Child Still in Critical After Columbus Shootings

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) -- A 9-year-old boy remains in critical condition after, authorities say, he was shot by his mother's former boyfriend.

It was part of a series of shootings that ended with the man's death.

Jaiden Dixon along with two more people were hospitalized from the shootings that occurred on November 22nd.

Columbus Police say Danny Thornton shot his former girlfriend Vicki Vertin in a dentists chair before hunting down and shooting Dixon.

Police say Thornton was tracked to a shopping area, where he was killed after emerging from his car with a gun.

An officer was hit in the hip during that shooting.
