Streetcar Do-Or-Die Week Ahead

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- This week is shaping up to be do-or-die for the streetcar project.

Monday evening supporters will have an update on a petition drive and they're expected to announce they have enough signatures to get the issue on the ballot.

The accounting firm conducting an audit of the costs will have their analysis done by Wednesday, when city council members will hear from the public.

On Thursday council holds a special session and will likely vote on the future of the project.

Friday is the deadline for the city to lose nearly 45 million dollars in federal funding for the streetcar.

Monday six council members sent a letter to the Federal Transit Authority asking that agency to be flexible in making its decision about the streetcar funding.  Federal workers say the FTA administrator has received the letter and will likely respond to it Tuesday.
