Benefit Held in Honor of Murdered Woman

NORWOOD, Ohio (Brad Underwood) -- Friends and community members organize a benefit Friday night for the family of a murdered woman.

A benefit in memory of Porshia Brooks just wrapped up at the Woodlawn Armory.

Brooks was shot and killed in Norwood nearly a month ago. Her boyfriend was seriously wounded.

Local 12 news reporter Brad Underwood was at the benefit where family and friends celebrated the joyful life that Porshia led.

Many at the benefit tonight wore t-shirts with photos of Porshia on them, including one that showed her last Facebook page post just an hour before she was killed reading, "overjoyed with happiness."

Norwood police continue to search for the man they believe killed Porshia Brooks and shot her boyfriend.

You can still donate to the Porshia Brooks Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank location.
