City May Withdraw Support for Housing Project

AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- Cincinnati city council members could vote Wednesday to draw support for a controversial housing project in Avondale.

Developers of the group "National Church Residences" want to build up to 100 units for homeless and disabled people on Alaska Avenue.  City council approved a resolution in February supporting the group's effort to get state tax credits which have since been approved.

But some neighbors say they oppose the project.

Homeless advocates say it's badly needed, and the plan needs to go forward.
