Speedway Gunman Suspected in Other Hold-Ups
FORT WRIGHT, Ky. (Deb Dixon) -- A brutal robber who stuck his gun in the back of a customer's head is now suspected in several other hold-ups.
Video from the robbery this week at the Speedway in Fort Wright matches images in other robberies, including one in Fort Mitchell, Cincinnati, and other neighborhoods.
The robber seemed comfortable as if he'd done this before, pushing through the door of the Speedway on Madison Pike in Fort Wright with a gun pointed at the clerk and a customer.
The robber throws the customer to the ground then turns to the clerk and demands money and cigarettes. You can see his gloved hand on the counter, likely worn to avoid leaving prints.
The striped glove with white fingertips is worn on one hand, the money grabbing one.
He takes money, demands cigarettes then turns to the customer, still on the floor, to rob him. He left when another customer walked in pointing his gun at heads and bodies.
A man matching the same description with sunglasses and a gun robbed a Marathon in Fort Mitchell in November. He took money and Black and Milds, a brand of cigars.
Police hope the face, the glove and the cigars add up to a suspect before just pointing the gun isn't enough.
A canine tracked the robber to Latonia Terrace and Covington. He may have been driving a blue Chevrolet Corsica.
Besides the Crime Stoppers reward there is an additional one thousand dollar reward from the Wheel of Justice fund for the robber's identity. Call 352-3040 with your anonymous tips police officers.
