AAA tips to keep your car running in extreme cold

PRICE HILL, Ohio (Perry Schaible) -- The extreme cold makes it dangerous for people to be outside and can cause problems with your car.

You'll want to bundle up Monday. Wear layers of loose fitting clothing and an outer shell that is thicker and water resistant. Have something on your head or a hood, you lose a lot of body heat through your head.

AAA says it had a record weekend for number of calls. They received about 2500 and it expects to be even busier on Monday. Employees are getting a lot of calls about dead batteries, people who are locked out and sliding off the road.

AAA says check to make sure your battery has plenty of starting power. It loses more power in this type of weather. If you don't have a garage, try to park your car in a place that is protected from the wind. AAA says it also helps to have half a tank of gas.
