Jury recommends 60 year sentence for man who shot cop

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (Angenette Levy) -- A Kenton County jury recommends 60 years in prison for a man convicted of trying to kill a police officer.

The jury convicted Pharo Wilson Tuesday on three counts of attempted murder for firing at Covington police officers in September of 2012 during the investigation of a poker game robbery.  One officer was hit in the foot.

Wilson didn't testify in his own defense.  His attorney told the jury Wilson grew up around crime and asked for a light sentence.  But Commonwealth attorney Rob Sanders said Wilson is a convicted drug dealer who's already been to prison for five years.

A judge will sentence Wilson on March 11.
