At Least One Injured in Fire

WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (Brad Underwood) -- A fire engulfed a man's home Thursday night in Walnut Hills.

It broke out in the 200 block of May Street around 9p.m.

One female is reported injured.  She was taken from the first floor of the house when found unconscious and taken to UC Medical Center.  There is no word on her condition.

A neighbor told fire crews one man lives in the home.  It is unclear what the relationship is between the homeowner and the woman found in the home.

The fire was 70 to 80 percent fully involved when crews arrived on the scene.  After the rescue fire companies remained inside the structure for about 15 minutes when a defensive operation had to be initiated.  The bulk of the fire was extinguished in approximately 45 minutes.

Damage is estimated at 100,000 dollars and the home is said to be a total loss according to the Cincinnati Fire Department press release.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
