Pleasant Ridge Chili celebrates 50 years
PLEASANT RIDGE, Ohio (WKRC) -- A local restaurant is celebrating fifty years of business Wednesday. Pleasant Ridge Chili opened in 1964 and it's been going strong ever since at its location at 6032 Montgomery Road.
It's hard to stay in business for 50 years in any line of work, but it's especially hard to do in a chili town like Cincinnati. Pleasant Ridge Chili is up against the titans of chili, Skyline and Gold Star, even Camp Washington Chili and Price Hill Chili. It's stood the test of time.
When you walk though the door, you feel special, you feel welcome, you feel like you're part of the family. The staff is dedicated. It's a great place but it all starts with the fantastic menu.
Danny Sideris says "the fries, cheese and gravy is all homemade. We make it from our beef stock. Make about 8 gallons a day, big seller." Says a regular, "their menus are unique. And their chili, in my opinion, is best in the town."
If you're coming in Wednesday, January 15, the restaurant is saying thanks with 99 cent cheese coneys, loaded up with mustard, onions, or however you like it.
Pleasant Ridge Chili is open daily from 9 a.m. until 4:30 a.m.
