Toss A Teddy Bear at Cincinnati Cyclones Game

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati Cyclones fans can help out a great cause by bringing a stuffed animal to Saturday night's game and tossing it onto the ice..

It sounds like a game, but it's much more than that.  The toss happens after the Cyclones first goal.  Cincinnati Police become part of the show as they scramble to retrieve the toys.

Last year, there were two thousand of them.  The thousands of teddy bears collected at last year's promotion were all distributed.

Colonel Whalen says gently used stuffed toys are fine.  They will be cleaned, packaged and placed in police cars.

The teddy bear toss coincides with Throwback Night, which features eight dollar tickets and dollar hot dogs, pizza, soda and beer.
