Two Dead in Crash with Semi

The two people who died in Friday morning's horrible crash in Clermont County have been identified.

Ohio State Patrol Troopers say 39-year-old Shawn Wilson of Lynchburg and 43-year-old Michael Brown of Williamsburg lost their lives in the crash.  The men were driving in separate pick-up trucks when they were struck by a semi trailer that came lose from its cab.

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (Adam Clements) -- It was an absolutely devastating scene in Stonelick Township as a violent five car crash claims two lives Friday morning.

Investigators say just before 7a.m. a tractor trailer heading eastbound on US-50 near State Route 132 separated from its cab as it came around a fairly curvy stretch of road.  The trailer slammed into 2 pickup trucks traveling westbound.

The drivers of both of those trucks were pronounced dead on the scene.  The driver of the semi was not injured.

Two other vehicles were also hit, another pickup and a small SUV.  Those drivers suffered only minor injuries.  One of them was transferred to the hospital.

Ohio State Patrol Investigators say they're still in the process of reconstructing the scene.

"Obviously, because we're so early into the investigation, I'm just giving you what we have at this point.  We aren't going to lay any cause to the crash just yet until we finish the investigation."

One thing we do know is that slick road conditions aren't to blame for this.  There is some snow just to the side of the pavement but no wet or icy spots that could have potentially caused the collision.

Investigators are working to notify the victims families before releasing their names.
