Two Stranded Fishermen Rescued from Ohio River

PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- Two fishermen found themselves stranded when the fuel line to their boat broke on the icy Ohio River.

Fortunately, they did have a cell phone but finding them was no small task.  The Coast Guard routed them to a Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officer in Pendleton County who had to figure out where they were.

Firefighters from North Pendleton, Augusta, and Bracken County all pulled together to pull the men up a steep riverbank.

Horn says with nightfall and barge traffic, the two men were in a very dangerous place.  They're okay Tuesday night and back home in Ripley, Ohio.

They'll pick up their boat Wednesday.
