Burst pipe blocks garage entrance on UC campus

CORRYVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) -- Another burst pipe causes problems on UC's campus in Corryville.

The pipe burst at noon Wednesday and the water closed off the entrance to the Corry garage by the Edwards Center. No vehicles were damaged. There are other ways into the garage. A salt truck was called in to treat the road.
A UC spokesman says the university has been dealing with 12 burst pipes across campus, all from sprinklers. Because of how they work, they're exposed. They're also concerned about fires, since the sprinklers cease to work when pipes burst.

A burst sprinkler pipe is also what forces students in 14 Stratford dorm rooms to find another place to stay.
