Ohio Bill Could Allow Secret Armed School Personnel
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A new bill in Ohio would excuse schools and teachers who are armed for accidents involving guns.
The bill in the Ohio General Assembly would remove liability for schools that make the decision to arm teachers. Ohio law allows schools to permit teachers to carry guns. This bill would allow them to decide in secret exactly who can be armed.
State education officials currently do not track which schools have armed educators, nor does the Attorney General's office.
School safety plans filed with the Attorney General's office might include information on who in a school may have a weapon.
