Disney Dreams Dashed: Woman Accused of Vacation Scams
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- Plans for dream vacations to the Magic Kingdom turn into nightmares when investigators say a local woman may have conned local families out of their money.
39-year-old Lisa Andres of Liberty Township is the focus of this investigation. Victims say she took thousands of dollars to book trips but never mad the reservations.
She is charged in one case and officials say there are more victims.
Lisa Andres was arrested earlier this week by Mason police. According to an incident report Kristina Martinez and her husband paid over 14,000 dollars to Andres for a Disney vacation. The Martinez's claim the vacation, and the plane tickets, were never booked by Andres and they were never refunded their money.
Others are now coming forward claiming the same thing happened to them.
Tara Dilley says her dance studio booked a trip to Destin, Florida through Andres for a dance competition.
"Nobody had any records of any reservations. At this point, people are arriving and they're all just standing in the parking lot. We were in the parking lot for ten hours that day just hustling trying to find a room for two, three nights."
Christa Eberle said she booked Disney and Destin trips through Andres, same story.
"I think she just thought she'd go as far as she could."
"There's no amount of money that can get back what was taken away from our kids," Dilley continues.
The women say they know others who have similar dealings with Andres.
Prosecutor Mike Gmoser says he wants to hear from others who may have been impacted by this.
