Standoff Suspect to be Extradited to Kentucky
KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- Kenton County jail confirms Michael Vaughan is in their facility.
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- A military veteran accused of holding police at bay during a standoff will soon be extradited back to Kentucky.
Michael Vaughan waived his extradition hearing in Hamilton County Thursday. Vaughan was booked into the Hamilton County justice center after his release from the hospital.
During the 20- hour standoff in Covington he held his children hostage, shot at police, and tried to set his house on fire. He is charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Kenton County officials have 10 days to complete Vaughan's extradition.
