Murder Suspects Appear in Court
WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (Jeff Hirsh) -- Investigators in Warren county say the two men charged with killing an 18-year-old Waynesville High School graduate have confessed.
The suspects were in court Thursday morning. The body of 18-year-old Justin Back was found Wednesday in Preble County. But court documents filed Thursday say the two suspects have admitted killing Back in his Warren County home in Wayne Township.
The documents don't go beyond that if Justin Back was killed at home, then the body had to be moved and dumped.
There is still a sheriff's car in front of Justin Back's house on Corwin Road, the place where court documents say Back was killed. The sheriff says Back had been choked, stabbed, and eventually shot.
19-year-old Tim Mosley and 19-year-old Austin Meyers were in court Thursday morning; or rather, were still in jail and had their arraignment on video.
No plea was entered, lawyers were appointed, and the suspects remain locked up. Police complaints for both defendants say each stated that he murdered the victim while at the victim's residence.
Investigators believe the victim and the suspects knew each other and actually believe all three were together at Back's house on Monday night. Then they believe the suspects went back to rob the place. A gun and a safe were missing.
The defendants are due back in court next Tuesday; although, that schedule could change if they are indicted by the Warren County Grand Jury.
Justin Back's stepfather called 911 on Tuesday night when he returned home to find the house a mess and Justin not there. The stepfather told Local 12 News he would rather not comment on the case.
