OTR Mother charged with attempted murder of baby in court

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A woman, charged with the attempted murder of her daughter in Over-the-Rhine, is ordered held on a quarter million dollar bond.
Jessica Whitehead was in court this morning, but did not appear before the judge. Her attorney waived her appearance at her arraignment.
On New Year's Eve, Cincinnati police and fire crews were called to a home at 16th and Walnut. They found a seven-week old baby girl in the tub, not breathing and rushed her to Children's Hospital.

She was on life support for some time. But the baby's father spoke in court today and says the child is doing better. "My baby's doing great in the hospital. She's off the breathing tube and everything. She's doing everything by herself. So, that's a blessing in itself."

The father of the baby also told the judge that this was just a tragic mistake.
