Hunt for Killer Who Tied Up and Shot Two People
AVONDALE (Deb Dixon) -- The year gets off to a violent start in Cincinnati.
There have been five homicides already including three overnight. Two people were shot to death in Avondale while children were in the home on Knott Street in Avondale. Police say Adam Bostic and Betty Thomas were tied up before they were shot.
Thursday night, 29-year-old Brandon Thomas of Lexington is charged with murder and police are trying to track him down.
The way the couple was killed sounds like gangland style taken to a new level. Take another look and it seems more a crime of opportunity for a man on the run.
"I saw him on ground tied up shot in the head."
Alexis stopped by the Knott Avenue Street home last night with a friend, Adam Bostic's cousin. That's when they found the bodies of Bostic and long time girlfriend, Betty Thomas.
Alexis' friend went looking for the couples little girls. 7 and 4.
"He was trying to get them out of the house so they wouldn't see."
"I feel sorry for those daughters, feel sorry for them."
Alexis says Betty Thomas' body was upstairs, Bostic down. She says their hands and feet were bound.
Police have charged a man who was staying there with killing them. I'm told there is evidence he was there when they were killed. Brandon Thomas, a man Lexington police call a major drug dealer in that city, is on the run .
At this point Adam Bostic's tattoos are not a gang thing but a rap thing. It says, "Money Power Respect," the title of a popular rap song. Relatives say he was all about family with his girlfriend of ten years. Family oriented, full of joy and of happiness, always wanted the best for their children.
