Business expansion at spot of troubled former Roselawn nightlcub

ROSELAWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- A business expansion for a local community as Duke Energy donates $400,000 to continue work at the TechSolve Two site in Roselawn.

TechSolve Two will be located at the site of the former Club Ritz.  The nightclub made national headlines after rapper T.I. and his entourage were involved in a shooting there several years ago.
The club is demolished and construction equipment sits on the property, but soon commercial buildings will house hundreds of new jobs in advanced and light manufacturing, similar to what's across the street at the original TechSolve.

The president of Duke Energy says the company is committed to economic development in the city. That's why Duke is investing $400,000 in construction efforts.

Laura Brunner from the Port Authority says the Bond Hill/Roselawn neighborhoods have incredible potential and Duke Energy's gift will help the community grow. "This was a center of our community in the past and we're committed to restoring it in the future." Says Mayor John Cranley, "here we have the opportunity to build on a blank slate, but not just a blank slate but to build on TechSolve one and the successful companies there."

The current plan calls for the construction of three to five buildings which would create about two or three hundred jobs in total. The city hopes to have everything finished in five years.
