Ohio Minimum Wage Increase

UNDATED (WKRC) -- Minimum wage in Ohio increases by 10 cents January 1st.

Workers earning the wage will now be getting $7.95 an hour.  Many of them work in fast food restaurants and service industry jobs.

Two advocacy groups placed a constitutional amendment on the ballot in 2006 which tied the rate in Ohio to the consumer price index.  The Ohio AFLCIO says while the increase is better than nothing, it's still not enough to end some workers reliance on public assistance.
