Parent Charged in Fatal Crash for Providing Alcohol to Underage Driver

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Fairfield woman faces charges in relation to a deadly crash but she wasn't behind the wheel.

Wednesday the Ohio Department of Public Safety announced 52-year-old Doreen Schafer will be charged with furnishing alcohol to an underage person.  Investigators say Schafer provided beer for her daughter and some of her daughter's friends.

Later 20-year-old Aaron Jones, who was at the New Year's Eve party, died in a crash in Hamilton.  Jones' car ran into a large stone sign at the entrance to Millikin Woods Park.

He was flown to the hospital but later died of his injuries.

Schafer will face a judge next month.
