SPCA taking care of dozens of dogs from Price Hill home

WEST PRICE HILL, Ohio (WKRC) -- The SPCA is treating the dozens of dogs taken from a West Price Hill home.

Local 12 was first to report that 59 dogs and other animals were seized from a home on Gilsey Avenue Friday, after police found them living in terrible conditions while serving a drug warrant. They were in filthy cages, stacked from floor to ceiling. Some cages had more than one dog inside.

None of the dogs had to be put down. Today, groomers at the SPCA are cleaning and trimming the dogs.

Just a reminder that even though the SPCA is caring for the dogs, it does not have legal custody of them and they are not up for adoption.

With charges pending, the future of the dogs could be tied up in legal action for some time. The person living in the house was taken into custody.  Police have not released a name.
