Reds pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear Friday

CINCINNATI (Perry Schaible) -- We are just 45 days away from opening day.     Today Reds pitchers and catchers are required to report to spring training in Goodyear, Arizona.

They take the field under new direction. Bryan Price is starting the season for the first time as manager. He spent the previous four years with the team as pitching coach.

He says he has a lot of work but he's ready for the job. He thinks one of his strengths will be putting the players in the positions they need to be in. He knows he needs to communicate with the players. Price says this is a hard game to play well on a consistent basis. "You can't just be that guy that is always there for them when they're doing well and not when they're struggling. Probably some of the most important times to communicate are when things aren't going well."

Reds fans are also looking forward to a new exhibit at the Reds Hall of Fame Museum. Kings of the Queen City highlights the Reds history of big moments and big players. The exhibit opens Friday, February 14 at 10 a.m.
