One in Four Ohioans are Smokers

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Smoking may be on the down-swing nationally, but in Ohio it's still a popular bad habit.

The number of smokers has dipped just five percent since 1984.  Nearly one in every four Ohioans smoke.

That's one of the worst rates in the country.

Anti-smoking advocates believe it's due to a lack of funding for programs that help people quit.  Smoking is the number one cause of preventable deaths in the US.
