Ohio Rep. Peter Beck indicted on 53 new counts
WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- More indictments were handed up against a Warren County lawmaker Thursday, A grand jury signed off on 53 felony charges against State Representative Peter Beck.
The new charges also involve a friend of Beck's, Janet Combs, and a church she ran called the Ark by the River in Cincinnati's Linwood neighborhood.
The charges include theft, perjury, money laundering and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Rich Jaffe broke the story more than a year ago when an investigation was launched into allegations Beck had misled investors about the health of a company.
That investigation led to a separate 16 count indictment against Beck. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and has even filed to run for re-election to the statehouse.
