Central Ohio police recover missing 5-year-old after brief Amber Alert issued

GAHANNA (WKRC) -- Officers apprehended two suspects a few hours after an an Amber Alert was issued for a missing 5-year-old girl.

Ella Barnhart was reported missing Monday afternoon  from her home in the Vista apartment complex near Hamilton and Morse Roads according to the Gahanna Division of Police.

Around 5 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Hocking County sheriff deputies reported the girl had been found safe. She was found in a car with her father, Nicholas Barnhardt, and his girlfriend.  Barnhardt does not have custody of Ella.

Officers said they pulled over the suspect's vehicle on US-33 and OH-595.  The suspect and his girlfriend were apprehended, according to police.
