Judge William McClain Dies

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A Cincinnati civil rights trailblazer is dead.

Judge William McClain died Tuesday.  His career was defined by breaking down barriers.

McClain became the first African American member of the Cincinnati Bar in 1951.  Then, the first African American Solicitor in a major city in 1963.

In 1975 he became the first African American judge to serve on the Hamilton County Pleas Court.

Judge William McClain was 101-years-old.
