Injured Soldier Gets New Home in Lawrenceburg

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (WKRC) -- On Saturday, a local soldier who lost both his legs in Afghanistan, got a new home, thanks to an organization called Homes for Our Troops.

Army Specialist Brett Bondurant is a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School. The new home he will live in with his wife London and daughter Jaycee is in Lawrenceburg and is specially adapted to his needs.

Bondurant says the place he was living presented many challenges and sometimes he had to crawl on his knuckles just to get around. He said this new home will eliminate some of those challenges.

Bondurant is retired from the military now and says he just wants to concentrate on being a father and watching his daughter grow up.

The organization Homes for Our Troops has been building homes for military service members at no cost since 2001.
