Waterfront Restaurant secured downriver

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- The Waterfront Restaurant  has been towed down the Ohio River and is now secured.

The towboats took the floating restaurant down to C&B Marine on River Road. The Coast Guard helped make sure the river was clear.

At C&B, crews will do any necessary repairs. They still have to evaluate the Waterfront, to see if any damage was done when the Waterfront broke free from its moorings at the former Covington Landing on Thursday.

One Jeff Ruby employee had to be rescued. Two employees were on the boat when it broke free. One was able to get off. A towboat picked up the other employee.

Ruby has said he wants to reopen the Waterfront Restaurant at Covington Landing in spring of 2015.
