Attacker sentenced for assault and murder for hire plot

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A judge sentences a man to 20 years in prison for assaulting another man, then trying to arrange his murder to keep him from testifying.

Kendall Flucas asked a delivery man if he had change for a $20 while at Cincinnati State in September 2013. When the delivery man took out  his wallet, Flucas hit him several times with a large rock and took off with his money.

Police caught up with Flucas and charged him with aggravated robbery and assault. While he was awaiting trial, Flucas then tried to have his victim killed. Investigators uncovered the plot after reviewing phone calls made by Flucas while he was in the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Flucas says he will appeal his sentence.
