Backlog cases tested in DNA rape kits

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The Ohio Attorney General's office says it's tested more than 3,000 rape kits to search for DNA matches.

That's more than half of the kits that submitted.  And, there's been hits on nearly 1,000 of them.

Attorney General Mike DeWine started the initiative because of a huge backlog of untested kits.  It's resulted in 85 indictments across the state so far.
