Six arrested for stealing copper from Duke Energy

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- A two month investigation leads to the arrests of a ring of six people accused of stealing copper from Duke Energy utility poles.

Boone County investigators say the suspects used tree pruners to cut down miles of copper line throughout the tri-state.  Then they sold the metal at three different recycling centers.
All six people indicted last week are now jailed.  They face organized crime charges along with theft and criminal mischief.
