Crews continue to clean up after Texas oil spill

TEXAS CITY, Texas (WKRC) -- Crews removed all the remaining oil from a damaged barge in the Gulf of Mexico after it collided with a ship.

After the crash Saturday, 168,000 gallon tank on the barge started leaking. A Coast Guard post captain says oil residue has been spotted as far as 12 miles out into the gulf.

The channel is closed, blocking more than 60 vessels from moving between the gulf and Galveston Bay.

The barge is currently being moved out of the Houston ship channel.
