Major drug bust, 60 suspects charged

COVINGTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- Five dozen local people are facing drug charges Thursday night.
Covington police identified 60 suspected drug traffickers after a 4-month investigation into drug trafficking.  13 people are under arrest Thursday.  Detectives targeted primarily heroin sales in the heart of the city.

Covington Police Chief Spike Jones says this is just the beginning.

"Simply taking 60 people off the streets today isn't going to solve this problem. Taking these 60 people and working it into other investigations by virtue of that is certainly a better start than what we had. These investigations don't end. 60 this week, maybe another 60 next week," Jones said.

Chief Jones says the drug activity was brought to the departments attention by business owners.
