Teen robbers in court
CINCINNATI (Deb Dixon) -- Two of the three teens charged with aggravated robbery of the Desales Market appeared in juvenile court.
They told police they did it because they wanted new clothes for a party that Saturday night. They never got to go. They were arrested that day at Kenwood Towne Center. They've been wearing jail house blues and grays ever since. And the chains and bracelets? Not the cool kind.
The teens were caught on security video before the robbery. Before they allegedly went into the market with Halloween masks and an air gun that looks like the real deal. The owner was robbed and so were patrons. That's where 3CDC's Steve Leeper comes in.
They tried to use his stolen credit cards. That's how they got caught. For the 14-year-old Taft High School student it is his first time in trouble.
It really is about choices. These teens made a lot of bad ones. That air gun for example. What if someone in the market had a real gun? They all could have been shot.
The mother of the 15-year-old Taft High School Student said she talked to him about that.
The boys will stay in jail at least until the new trial date next month. It gives them a lot of time to think about choices and consequences. And, as Ozzie Davis says, to look in the mirror and think about what kind of live they want to live.
