Fire in Hartwell Cause $80,000 in Damage

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A fire in Hartwell Saturday night caused $80,000 in damage to a home and displaced two families.

The fire was reported about 8 p.m. at a home on Sheehan Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire in the rear of the first floor. Officials say the fire's advance start and the open channel construction allowed the fire to spread rapidly all the way up to the roof.  Fire crews had to evacuate the structure and knock down the bulk of the fire from the outside.

No injuries were reported. A total of 3 adults and five children were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is helping some of them.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
