Cincinnati celebrates St. Patricks Day downtown Saturday

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati celebrated St. Patrick's Day downtown Saturday afternoon with two events.

The annual St. Patrick's Day parade through downtown kicked off events Saturday morning. It was the 48th year for the event.

It made it's way through downtown starting at Culver Street and continuing down Eggleston Avenue, Central Parkway, Sycamore Street, Fifth Street and ending on Sentinel Street.

Those who are Irish, or Irish at heart, dressed in green and lined the parade route.

The celebration continued on Fountain Square. The festivities went on all Saturday and continued into the night with live music from Celtic rock bands, authentic Irish cuisine from Cheeky Meat Pies and cornhole.

Merchandise was also available along with Guinnss and other Irish beers for sale.

The party continues Monday beginning at 11:30 on the square.
