Greenpeace rappelling off Procter and Gamble towers

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Police believe nine Greenpeace activists have gotten inside P&G's twin towers Tuesday afternoon.

They were able to drape large protest signs over the side of the buildings.  The action caught the attention of downtown workers and police around 1p.m.

One banner said, "Head & Shoulders wipes out dandruff and the rainforest."  They are protesting the way P&G gets palm oil from Indonesia.  Greenpeace activists say it threatens the rainforest, leads to climate change and even threatens tigers in the region.

One woman, dressed as a tiger, hung between the two towers by a wire and also got a lot of attention.  P&G is not saying how the people got into their buildings or how security was breached.

Nine protestors were arrested according to police.  Three of them were women and all face charges including trespassing and disorderly conduct.

According to their website, Greenpeace is, "An independent global campaigning organization that acts to change attitudes and behavior, to protect and conserve the environment and promote peace."
