Filming of Carol could disrupt traffic and parking

CINCINNATI (Perry Schaible) -- The filming of the movie "Carol" downtown will mean parking restrictions for most of Wednesday morning.

The movie is set in the 1950s in New York City and stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. Wednesday, they'll be shooting on McFarland, between Elm and Central.  Because of the time period, the movie crew doesn't want any modern cars in view.

Parking meters have been covered and there are no parking signs up. Police will be in the area to help with any traffic delays and to help keep interruptions to a minimum. Residents and business owners have been asked to adhere to the restrictions. The restrictions are expected to be in effect until 11 a.m.

The movie stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. It's based on the novella "The Price of Salt" by Patricia Highsmith. She also wrote "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Strangers on a Train".
