Construction underway on home for mothers, babies recovering from heroin addiction

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) -- Work is underway on a a home for mothers and their babies who are recovering from heroin addiction.

The Healthy Newborn House is on Greenup Street near Trevor in Covington. Leadership Northern Kentucky is working with Transitions Incorporated to renovate the former Larry Droege Memorial Home as a class project. Some class members started working Saturday.

They cut holes in the wall so air conditioning can be installed.

The goal is to give mothers and newborns a safe place to live and learn life skills.
