23 experienced officers to begin training for the Cincinnati Police Department

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- New Cincinnati police officers will soon be on the streets, but these officers won't be rookie cops.

Tuesday, Mayor John Cranley announced a new recruit class will begin training next month.  The city sent letters to qualified officers with experience and has received acceptances from 23.
Officers with experience are considered 'lateral transfers' and undergo training on Cincinnati's policies and procedures.  Another 60 recruits who are new to police work will also undergo training this year.
