Hong Kong architects design Jenga-like hotel

HONG KONG (WKRC) -- Would you want to stay in a hotel that looked like a colorful, giant version the game Jenga?

A proposed hotel, called Hive-Inn, concept in Hong Kong by architects at OVA Studios would be made out of recycled shipping containers staggered on top of one another.

The building was designed for the Radical Innovations Awards. The shipping containers would sit in a way that allows rooms to be used without disturbing the other containers.

The concept would also allow for companies to use the hotel for marketing. Since the exterior of some of the shipping containers can be changed, the hotel could temporarily sponsor companies like Ikea and Starbucks. As the partnerships change, there would always be something new to see.

The branding idea would also give fans the chance to stay somewhere that displays that brand's style.

Although Hive-Inn was originally conceived as a hotel, its architects have thought out a number of possibilities for its use. It could potentially be used as emergency housing, medical care units, mobile apartments or offices.
