Driver who got away from police crashes in Colerain Twp.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Ohio State Patrol is searching for a driver who crashed into a pole after driving off from a traffic stop.

The trooper stopped a gray Hyundai for driving without headlights on shortly before midnight Tuesday. When the trooper asked for the driver's license, the driver told the trooper he didn't have it. When the trooper ordered the driver out of the car, he took off.

The trooper lost sight of the Hyundai, but notified the dispatch center. Just after midnight, the car crashed on U.S. 27 near East Miami River Road. The driver had run off.

A police dog was brought in to search but could not track down the driver.
