Accused bedroom intruder arrested

NEWPORT, Ky. (WKRC) -- A Newport man admits he's the one who broke into homes in Bellevue and Newport early Sunday.

But 25-year-old Mickey Marcum denies he pulled the bed covers off two women as they slept.  That's the same story two women in different cities gave police.  Marcum was arrested Thursday night on an unrelated charge after Newport Police officers on patrol noticed him walking on the Fourth Street Bridge.  What they noticed was the white hoodie similar to what one of the victims described.

Friday Marcum admitted to the crimes after police tracked a cellphone stolen from the Newport victim to a friend.  He told police Mickey Marcum gave him the phone on Sunday.  He's charged in four burglaries in Newport, and is expected to be charged in the Bellevue burglary.

Marcum told Local 12 he burglarized for his financial needs.
