GM recall repairs begin Monday

DETROIT (WKRC) -- General Motors begins repairs Monday on some of the millions of vehicles at the center of a controversial recall.

Ignition problems in several models have been linked to at least 12 deaths. Starting Monday, owners of 6 GM models can bring their vehicles to a dealer to have that ignition switch replaced.

The vehicles can suddenly shut down on the road. That can also disable the air bag.

The fix is available for model years 2003 through 2007 of the Chevrolet Cobalt and HHR, Pontiac G5 and Solstice, and the Saturn Ion and Sky.

Later models of those vehicles have also been recalled, and GM has said parts for those cars will be available later.

You can bring those cars to any Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac dealer.
