Butler Co. Sheriff says high-level drug dealer arrested

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- The Butler County Sheriff's Office says it has busted a man they believe to be a high level drug dealer.

After receiving information about a heroin operation in Fairfield, agents started watching 32-year-old Stefan Rutledge. Monday evening, they say they saw a drug deal involving Rutledge on Ramblewood Drive.

Investigators tried to pull Rutledge over and say he led them on a slow-speed chase into Hamilton County. They say during the pursuit, Rutledge threw items out of his vehicle. He was eventually stopped in Forest Park and arrested. Deputies say they recovered what was tossed out.

Investigators searched an apartment on Ramblewood, believed to be Rutlledge's base of operation. Deputies seized $4,000 in cash, about 10 ounces of heroin, a "bulk" supply of fentanyl, various pills, a grinder, and a press used to help prepare the heroin for distribution. Rutledge faces several drug charges and failure to comply with a police officer.

Rutledge is currently in jail.
