Presidential book signing

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- America's 39th President was in town Tuesday night promoting his new book.

Jimmy Carter was signing his book, "A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power," at Joseph Beth Booksellers in Norwood.  The 89-year-old says the book has been 35 years in the making.  It addresses the discrimination and the abuse of women around the world, especially here in the US.

Carter told Local 12 News, "We pay women about 23% less than we do men. And we have a lot of abuse of women particularly on college campuses and in the military. Almost every college campus has a lot of sexual abuse. And nobody does much about it because they don't want to admit that they have that kind of problem in the university."

Carter, who is an international peace activist, has written books ranging from his memoirs to focusing on international issues.
