More remains of Katelyn Markham possibly found
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) -- The Franklin County Coroner's Office released a statement saying recently discovered remains are believed to be more pieces of the skeleton of a missing Fairfield woman.
Katelyn Markham disappeared from her apartment in August of 2011. On April 10th of this year the coroner was called out to the site on Big Cedar Road, where her initial remains were discovered. Someone had called 911 and suspected they had found more skeletal remains.
A volunteer team, comprised mostly of members of the Texas Equisearch Group, combed through the scene again this past Saturday. The Coroner says solitary human bones were recovered during searches on both April 10th and April 19th. The remains are likely those of Markham and are now in the hands of the Indiana State Forensic Lab. A Forensic Anthropologist will conduct a post-mortem exam and confirm the identity of the remains.
Until this point no one has been identified as a suspect in Katelyn Markham's killing. If you know anything please call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
Markham's death is still under investigation.
