Warmer weather means more orange barrels
UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Adam Clements) -- The warm weather we're seeing isn't just good for all of us who are sick and tired of winter, it also means construction crews can get back to work on their highway and interstate projects.
Crews have spent the winter clearing ice and snow, now they're repairing potholes caused by the brutal winter.
State Route 32 in Union Township, Clermont County is one place we've been seeing construction work. Also expected to begin soon, work on an MLK exit off of I-71 and on I-275 from Colerain to I-74.
Crews work from spring though the fall, to get as much done as they can. "The warm weather season is upon us. hopefully we've gone past the dreaded winter," says Brian Cunningham of ODOT, "and during that period of time, a lot of projects get started, or restart, and so we will have a host of projects that will be beginning into the summer and through the fall. While activity still occurs during the winter, it's not nearly as robust as during the warm weather."
So you will see more orange barrels and construction zones, but be careful and watch out for the construction workers.
